Most turmeric-curcumin supplements today are not as effective as you may think. Our review found that over half the supplements available on Amazon and other retailers simply contained generic turmeric extracts. Even curcumin, the active compound linked to the benefits found in turmeric, breaks down too quickly in the body. So if the curcumin formula is not designed for better absorption, much of the ingredient may pass through the body before your system can fully utilize it.
